ITS NOT FUNNY, an independent online
news portal, is beginning to receive some serious attention once you become our
members and will be transformed into our proud CITIZEN JOURNALISTS.
Citizen journalism refers to any type of news gathering and
reporting - writing and publishing articles about a newsworthy topic, or
posting photographs or video of a newsworthy event - that is done by members of
the general public rather than the professional news agencies commonly referred
to as "mainstream media." But any conversation about citizen
journalism in the modern age is mostly a conversation about the transformative
effect of the Internet on
the democratization of information.
And here we are….to
provide you with such a great platform towards citizen journalism. We have
launched an online news portal for those who want to raise their voice without
any training. Let us introduce to the ITS NOT FUNNY (www.itsnotfunny.in).
“It’s Not Funny” (INF) is a Citizen
Journalism platform that encourages and invites people to raise “real” issues
in our society that are not fully covered by the mainstream media.
INF contributors are regular people who
want to discuss issues that affect their daily lives and create an environment
for change and progress. You do not have to be a professional journalist to
publish on INF, just a concerned citizen who cares about the quality of life in
India. This unique platform can bring forward the real problems by treating its
readers as collaborators and not just end consumers.
